TlD/Lucas Oil Honda Race Report: Steel City
It was a difficult and unlucky weekend for the Troy Lee Designs / Lucas Oil / Honda team. While every rider on the team rode well at some point in the day, they just couldn''t piece together two solid motos to post a solid overall.

Ben Townley opened the day with a second place start in moto one. He rode tight initially and dropped several spots to fifth. Once he figured out some lines he was able to move back up into third by the end of the race. What we couldn''t see was that Ben had taken a rock to the face and had fractured his nose on the opening lap. He considered pulling in but toughed it out and scored good points. It was a good start to the day and BT was looking good to land another premier class podium. The second moto start looked like another top five but just as Ben reached the first turn he locked bars with another rider and was sent flying. Ben got up from the crash but was shaken and did not return to racing. His 3-37 finishes would place him in tenth overall, not what the Kiwi was looking for.

"I''ve just been really disappointed with the way my last four races have gone," said Ben after the race. "I know I can be racing at the front and there''s no reason I should be off the podium right now, really. I''m just making mistakes and getting a little unlucky with situations like today. Hopefully I can end the season on a good note at Pala."
