Round two of the west coast supercross series blasted off Saturday night in the cold desert of Phoenix, Arizona. The track was a mix of slick, hard pack soil and soft, rutty turns. It made for a very technical course and the Troy Lee Designs riders were up for the challenge.

The start of the supercross series is always chaotic and stressful. Months of hard work boil down to a tangible moment when the gate drops and it’s difficult to ignore the pressure and stay focused on the task at hand. Most riders struggled with the opening round jitters and the TLD camp wasn’t immune. Team leader, Cole Seely, couldn’t find his rhythm all day during practice and his teammates Jessy Nelson and Christian Craig had some of the same issues. Fortunately, when the gate dropped and it counted they performed.
